Report: De Bruyne to sign new City contract worth £210K per week
Kevin De Bruyne is ready to rubber-stamp a new six-year contract with Manchester City worth around £210,000 a week, according to the Guardian's Ed Aarons and Jamie Jackson.
Confirmation is expected to arrive in the next few weeks.
The innovative Belgian midfielder is one of several players to be involved in contract discussions with City's hierarchy as of late. Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho, Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, and Ederson are all in line for new deals.
News of De Bruyne's new contract is undoubtedly a blow to potential suitors Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain. His weekly salary is set to rise from his current £120,000 stipend, with various other bonuses also believed to be included.
De Bruyne's wages are expected to be paid in euros to negate the effect of Brexit, Goal's Sam Lee adds. The only thing left to be arranged is the player's image rights.
The 26-year-old has helped City along its record-breaking 15-match winning streak, scoring six goals while serving up another eight assists in the Premier League.
