Kane equals Shearer's Premier League record for goals in calendar year
Harry Kane is on par with Premier League record goalscorer Alan Shearer - for now, at least.
The Tottenham striker scored a hat-trick during Saturday's win over Burnley to bring his total to 36 goals in 2017, a figure that equals the record Shearer set over 20 years ago.

Saturday's display was also the seventh time Kane recorded a hat-trick in 2017 - five in the Premier League, once in the Champions League, and once in the FA Cup.
Kane has one more chance to surpass Shearer when Tottenham takes on Southampton during its final match of the year on Dec. 26.

Congratulations @HKane!
After a slow start to the season, Kane stuck to tradition and found his scoring touch once the calendar turned to September. Kane scored six league goals in four Premier League matches during the month, as well as another two goals to begin Tottenham's Champions League campaign.
The 24-year-old is now level for the scoring lead (15 goals) with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
Kane will look to maintain his blistering form in the New Year when he attempts to win his third straight Golden Boot award as the Premier League's top scorer. He won the honour last season when he followed up his 25-goal performance in 2015-16 with another 29 league goals.
