Dyche's hoarse voice due to appetite for worms, says former teammate
Before helping Burnley slither up from the Championship and into the Premier League, it appears Sean Dyche had quite the appetite for worms.
Dyche's former teammate, Soren Andersen, said the Burnley manager may have developed his distinct gruff voice when he was munching on earthworms during their time together at Bristol City.
"He had exactly the same voice," Anderson told a Danish podcast, as quoted by Callum Davis of The Telegraph. "Maybe the voice comes from eating rainworms, because every time we trained, he used to eat rainworms."
Andersen added: "It was horrible, I’ve never experienced anything like it. It was like: 'whoops, there’s a rainworm' and then he ate it.
"It was a bit disgusting and very strange. He was a good player, and I enjoyed being around him, but the thing with the worms was really strange."
Unfortunately for Dyche, there won't be much to eat at Turf Moor when Burnley hosts Manchester United on what should be a relatively dry day Saturday.
Dyche has garnered plenty of attention this season after guiding his side up to seventh place with 34 points through 23 matches.
