Watford has invited volunteers to help clear Vicarage Road of snow in the hours preceding Saturday's match against West Bromwich Albion, and is attempting to intrigue them with tickets, hot drinks, and bacon rolls.

Hertfordshire isn't spared from the severe cold and snow that grips the United Kingdom as Storm Emma collides with the "Beast from the East." The extreme weather has led to thousands of school closures and countless flight and train cancellations.

Numerous matches up and down the nation have been postponed, but a Premier League spokesman told BBC Sport that he expects all 10 top-flight fixtures between Saturday and Monday to go ahead.

Watford, however, needs some assistance.

"The Hornets would welcome volunteers at Vicarage Road Stadium tomorrow (matchday) in order to help clear the pitch, stands and walkways of any snow which falls between now and the morning," reads Watford's statement.

The invitation added: "In a similar vein to those who volunteered their time five years ago ahead of a snowy win over Huddersfield Town in January 2013, you can expect to be thanked for your help with a pair of complimentary match tickets, as well as tea & coffee and bacon rolls."

Watford also suggested volunteers "bring a stiff broom or plastic snow shovel" to supplement the snow-shifting equipment currently in its armoury.
