Leicester plucks Danny Ward from Liverpool
Danny Ward moved to Leicester City on Friday after failing to break into Liverpool's starting XI during the 2017-18 season.
The Welsh goalkeeper inked a four-year contract at the King Power Stadium after a deal reportedly worth up to £12 million was agreed upon between the two clubs.
Ward was instrumental when on loan at Huddersfield Town in the 2016-17 term, helping the Terriers to an unlikely promotion via the play-offs. However, he made just one competitive appearance for Liverpool the following campaign, playing the full 90 minutes of a League Cup defeat to Leicester in September.
"I've come here to develop my all-round game and hopefully help deliver some more success," the 25-year-old said. "The club has had that in recent years and hopefully there's more to come in the future."
Ward will challenge Kasper Schmeichel and Eldin Jakupovic for minutes in the East Midlands. The Wrexham product, who has four caps for Wales, will join his new teammates on Monday for a week-long trip to Austria.
