Everton confirm 11th-hour loan deal for Chelsea's Zouma
Everton's last-ditch attempt to sign Kurt Zouma was a success.
The Toffees rubber-stamped a deal to take the Chelsea center-back on a season-long loan Friday, many hours after Thursday's transfer deadline had passed.
Zouma completed his medical following the deadline-day signings of Bernard, Yerry Mina, and Andre Gomes were announced.
The 23-year-old, who spent the 2017-18 season with Stoke City, will compete for minutes with Mina, Michael Keane, Phil Jagielka, and Matthew Pennington at Goodison Park.
Zouma's career at Chelsea has yet to take off since his arrival from Saint-Etienne in 2014. He missed more than eight months in 2016 after suffering a devastating ACL tear and subsequently struggled to earn regular minutes in the Blues' starting lineup.
He was sent to Stoke to gain more Premier League experience last season and started 32 matches as the Potters were relegated to the Championship.
