Spurs get revenge on Arsenal, book spot in League Cup semifinals
Arsenal couldn't muster another comeback.
After being swatted aside by their north London rivals earlier in December, Tottenham got some measure of revenge by claiming a 2-0 victory at the Emirates in the League Cup quarterfinals.
Goals from Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli on either side of Wednesday's halftime interval - the latter a delightful chip over Petr Cech - let Spurs lock up a place in the semifinals of the competition.
It's the first time in eight years that Tottenham tasted victory in an away match against the Gunners.
Tottenham have beaten Arsenal away from home for the first time since November 2010.

Arsenal threatened throughout the contest - Unai Emery's men struck the woodwork three times, and dictated play for long stretches - but some wayward shooting, combined with a pair of clinical Tottenham finishes, condemned the hosts to a second consecutive defeat in all competitions.
Tottenham's win solidifies the final four in this season's League Cup, with defending champions Manchester City, Chelsea, and Burton Albion rounding out the remaining field.
