Chelsea's Hazard says he's made decision about future
With 18 months left on his contract at Chelsea, Eden Hazard says he's already decided on his next career move.
"I know what I am going to do. I have made a decision," Hazard told French radio station RMC, as translated by Joe Krishnan of the Evening Standard.
Hazard's remarks will be featured in a documentary that's set to air in France on Wednesday. According to ESPN FC's Liam Twomey, the interview was conducted a couple of months ago.
Uncertainty over the playmaker's future has persisted for more than a year, as Hazard has been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid and added fuel to the speculation by saying he wanted to leave Chelsea after the World Cup last summer.
Although a move never materialized, Hazard has been linked with the Spanish side throughout this season
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has seemingly grown tired of the rumors, saying he'd prefer Hazard reveal his future plans while adding that he won't stop the player from departing.
"Eden is 28. If he wants to go, I think he has to go," Sarri said last week.
"Of course, I hope the opposite. I hope he wants to stay here. He has the potential to be the best player in Europe at the moment. Sometimes he's happy with something less. It's my job to improve him and put him in a position to do his best."
Amid the interest from Real Madrid, Hazard also claimed in November that Paris Saint-Germain have been in contact, but that he isn't tempted to join the Ligue 1 side. A successful transfer to either giant would reportedly require a bid worth £100 million.
