Dele Alli could be on the verge of suiting up for Tottenham Hotspur in the near future, as the midfielder returned to training Monday for the first time since suffering an injury in January, according to Sky Sports.

The 22-year-old has been out of action since picking up a hamstring ailment in Tottenham's victory over Fulham on Jan. 20.

Spurs' Champions League showdown against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday won't feature Alli, though, as he didn't travel with the team to Germany.

However, the England international is on pace to possibly feature in the club's Premier League match Saturday against Southampton.

"I think Dele is close, we will see if it is possible for him to be involved on Saturday against Southampton," manager Mauricio Pochettino said, according to Sky Sports.

Harry Winks and Eric Dier also returned to training Monday after overcoming their respective injuries. Both players are expected to be available for Tuesday's match.

Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier won't be available for the round of 16 contest after Pochettino chose to leave the fatigued right-back in England due to an injury concern.

"Kieran Trippier is at home after two games," the Spurs boss said. "He was so tired, and has a small problem."

Tottenham look to advance to the quarterfinal stage of the Champions League for the first time since 2011 after beating Dortmund 3-0 in the first leg.
