Kane declares himself 'ready to go' for Champions League final

Harry Kane has returned to full training and declared himself fit to play in Tottenham's Champions League final encounter with Liverpool this weekend.

The English forward, who's been sidelined since April 9 with an ankle injury, has yet to receive medical clearance but insisted he's ready to return.

"I feel good," Kane said, according to Tom Morgan of The Telegraph. "I'm back with the team. I did a lot of work on my own to get me into a good place to go back with the team. Since I've been with them, I've been full training, doing everything. I'm at a place now where I’m ready to go for any game but again, it's down to the manager."

Mauricio Pochettino stopped short of confirming Kane's availability for Saturday's contest.

"It's so important that he feels well and he's very positive. We'll see what happens," the manager said. "I cannot say if he'll be 100 percent fit or starting, or on the bench or out."

The 24-year-old Kane added that the long break following the conclusion of the Premier League season has improved his chances of recovering in time.

"Having the three-week gap after the end of the season definitely helped," he said. "From when it happened, I could put a plan in place to be ready for this game. We took our time with it. We’ve had longer than we had for the other ankle injuries. It's worked out well. So I slowly took my time and now I’m in a good place."

Kane was also forced to miss six weeks earlier this term because of a ligament problem in the same ankle, but he still managed to finish the season as Tottenham's top scorer with 24 goals.
