Report: Sessegnon wants to join Spurs after ending Fulham talks
Ryan Sessegnon has told Fulham he won't sign a contract extension and prefers to join Tottenham this summer, according to The Guardian's David Hytner.
With his contract set to expire next summer, Sessegnon has given Fulham an opportunity to turn a profit after explaining he wants to move to north London and work under Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
It's understood the Argentine boss would like to complete a move for the 19-year-old winger before Spurs players report to preseason training on July 8.
Tottenham, however, will have to meet Fulham's hefty demands to sign the England under-21 international. Fulham have placed a £45-million price tag on Sessegnon, who has also attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.
Fulham's valuation is well above the £25 million that Tottenham are willing to pay, according to Hytner. But the Cottagers may be forced to reduce their asking price to avoid letting Sessegnon leave on a free transfer if he enters the season without a new contract.
Sessegnon appeared in 35 matches during the 2018-19 campaign for a Fulham side that was relegated back to the Championship after one season in the Premier League.
