Wolverhampton forward Diogo Jota is the winner of the Premier League's inaugural FIFA 20 tournament - the ePL Invitational - following Saturday's semifinal and final action.

Here's how the matches, which were streamed on the Premier League's various social channels, unfolded:

Semifinals

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) vs. Raheem Sterling (Manchester City)

The tournament's highest-profile match didn't disappoint. Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold pulled off an excellent comeback in the first semifinal of the day, battling back from two goals down to oust Manchester City star Raheem Sterling in extra time. The Reds do love a good comeback.

A Jordan Henderson tally sent the contest to the extra frame, and Roberto Firmino ended it. You could see how much it meant to the 21-year-old Alexander-Arnold after the winning goal hit the back of the net.

Diogo Jota (Wolves) vs. Dwight McNeil (Burnley)

The day's other semifinal was a far more straightforward affair. Jota was the standout performer all week - he scored 13 goals across his first two games - and continued that hot form against Burnley winger Dwight McNeil. The Wolves attacker cruised to a 4-1 win, capping things off with a late strike from Raul Jimenez.

McNeil had enjoyed a nice run to reach the final four, but the Portuguese forward was simply too much to handle.

Final

Trent Alexander Arnold (Liverpool) vs. Diogo Jota (Wolves)

Alexander-Arnold looked to be on his way to a hard-fought 1-0 win in the final, but a crafty goal from Adama Traore in the 76th minute - after a sumptuous setup by Jimenez - sent the contest to golden goal. That's when Jota broke the deadlock to take home the title for Wolves.

A crestfallen Alexander-Arnold couldn't hide his disappointment. Fair play to Jota, who was the class of the field throughout the tournament.
