City's Garcia released from hospital after nasty collision with Ederson
Manchester City defender Eric Garcia has been released from hospital after being stretchered off during Wednesday's 3-0 win over Arsenal.
Goalkeeper Ederson dashed out of his box to clear the ball with his head, but in doing so flattened Garcia with his momentum. The time it took to treat the 19-year-old and his eventual withdrawal contributed to 11 minutes of injury time.
"We are really concerned," manager Guardiola admitted to Sky Sports after the match, as reported by BBC Sport. "He responded quite well but we have to wait. He is conscious, which is a good sign. We will make another test."
Garcia was starting his third Premier League match of the season. City reportedly rejected an inquiry from Barcelona regarding the young center-back during recent discussions between the two clubs, with the young Spaniard apparently highly regarded by Guardiola.
Garcia started alongside Aymeric Laporte as City restarted their 2019-20 campaign. Natural midfielders Fernandinho and Rodri, Nicolas Otamendi, and John Stones have also featured in central defense during the Premier League season.
