Report: Liverpool's Mane ready to sign Bayern deal, improved bid incoming
Sadio Mane verbally agreed to sign a three-year contract with Bayern Munich when the club has an offer accepted by Liverpool, according to The Guardian's Fabrizio Romano.
The German giants are now expected to submit an improved bid for his services.
Bayern have so far been unsuccessful with approaches of £25 million and £30 million with add-ons for Mane. Liverpool reportedly won't let the 30-year-old leave unless they receive an offer worth in excess of £40 million.
Mane reportedly told Liverpool he wants to depart Merseyside in May after six successful seasons with the club. His Reds contract expires at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
Liverpool appear to have found a replacement for Mane after Tuesday's big-money signing of Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan marksman arrived from Benfica in a transfer that could be worth €100 million after performance-related bonuses.
Bayern Munich, meanwhile, may need to replace a popular player of their own. Robert Lewandowski has publicly expressed his desire to leave the club, but sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic made it clear that he expects the free-scoring striker to see out the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena.
Lewandowski, who turns 34 in August, is linked with a move to Barcelona.
