Report: Chelsea spending spree to continue with €35M Madueke signing
Chelsea's aggressive recruitment drive is continuing after the Premier League club reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven over the signing of Noni Madueke, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.
The paperwork is being prepared for Madueke to sign a long-term contract when he arrives in London, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports.
The transfer fee is expected to be around €35 million (£30 million). The acquisition would mean Chelsea's January business will potentially exceed £170 million after add-ons.
The Blues spent over £260 million last summer but are positioned 10th in the Premier League table.
London-born Madueke would likely challenge January signing Mykhailo Mudryk for minutes in Graham Potter's side. He's scored 11 goals and assisted seven times over 51 Eredivisie appearances for PSV, but he's only started two league matches in the current campaign after missing the beginning of the season with an ankle injury.
The 20-year-old represented the youth teams of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur before moving to the Netherlands in 2018.
