Newcastle nearing move for Chelsea's Hall in deal reportedly worth up to £35M
Newcastle United are close to signing 18-year-old Lewis Hall from Chelsea.
The left-back, who also appeared as a winger and midfielder for the Blues, is joining the Magpies on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy for £28 million next summer, according to BBC Sport. The fee could rise to £35 million after add-ons.
Hall has started just eight Premier League matches. He was named Chelsea's Academy Player of the Year for 2023.
"He's a player that I like - very versatile, really good potential," Newcastle manager Eddie Howe said Friday ahead of the player's expected unveiling, according to FootballDaily.
"If we were able to bring a player in, that would be our transfer business concluded unless there was injuries," he added.
Hall's arrival will raise Newcastle's total summer transfer outlay to around £160 million before add-ons.
