Report: Rashford put up for sale as part of cultural reboot at Man United
Manchester United want to sell struggling forward Marcus Rashford as soon as January as part of a cultural shakeup at the club, according to The Guardian's Jamie Jackson.
Amorim left Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho at home for Sunday's 2-1 win over Manchester City after assessing their performances and overall demeanor in training. While Garnacho appears to have a pathway back to the first team, Rashford's time at United is up.
Co-owner Jim Ratcliffe and head coach Ruben Amorim reportedly believe Rashford - who was previously dropped by ex-manager Erik ten Hag for oversleeping - must go to establish a higher standard at United.
"For me, what is important is the performance in training, the performance in game, the way you dress, the way you eat, the way you engage with teammates and push teammates," Amorim said.
"Everything is important in our context, the beginning of something when we want to change a lot of things, when people in our club are losing their jobs. We have to put our standards really high, and for that they have to fight for their place in their team."
It's unclear whether anyone will come in for Rashford in January. He has a contract until June 2028 and reportedly earns £365,000 per week.
The 27-year-old has scored seven goals in 23 total appearances this season.
