Tel changes his mind, joins Spurs on loan with reported €55M option
Mathys Tel had a change of heart.
The French forward joined Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day after the Premier League side and Bayern Munich agreed to a loan until season's end. Spurs have an option to make the move permanent this summer.
The purchase option is for €55 million, reports David Ornstein of The Athletic.
It was reported last week that the 19-year-old rejected a move to Spurs after the two clubs had come to an agreement on a €60-million permanent transfer, but Tel has now opened up to the idea of playing for the north London outfit.
Manchester United and Chelsea both expressed interest in the teenager in recent weeks, and Tel appeared to be holding out for one of those clubs, but neither move materialized.
Tel, Bayern Munich's youngest-ever scorer, has made 83 appearances for the German club, scoring 16 times.
He'll immediately help a Tottenham side that's been hammered by injuries and sits 14th in the Premier League.
