Haaland races to 100 Premier League goal involvements in record time
Manchester City's Erling Haaland became the first player to reach 100 Premier League goal involvements in fewer than 100 matches after opening the scoring with a penalty in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.
It was the striker's 84th goal in his 94th appearance in England's top flight. He's also provided 16 assists since joining City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
Haaland reached three figures in goal involvements in six fewer matches than the previous record holder, Alan Shearer. Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Manchester United icon Eric Cantona both required 116 Premier League games to log their 100th goal involvement.
Sergio Aguero reached 100 goal involvements (77 goals, 23 assists) in his 118th Premier League outing for Manchester City.
Haaland, 24, is just one strike shy of 85 Premier League goals, which would equal Eden Hazard, Louis Saha, and Fernando Torres' individual tallies in the competition. He's currently level with former Manchester City standout Carlos Tevez on 84 goals.
The Norwegian holds the record for the most prolific season in Premier League history after cramming 36 goals into 35 appearances during his first season at Manchester City.
