Rasmus Hojlund's season-long loan from Manchester United to Napoli turned into a permanent transfer Sunday after the Italian club qualified for the Champions League, the player confirmed on Instagram.

"I'm now officially a Napoli player and I'm saying goodbye to Manchester United," he wrote in a post.

"That feels weird, because for the past year I already feel like a Napoli player. The way you fans supported me, made me feel like home, and let me find my confidence again is something I'm so grateful for."

The obligation to buy triggered in the Danish forward's loan deal was worth €44 million, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. Napoli reportedly paid €6 million to bring Hojlund aboard on temporary terms last summer.

The 23-year-old scored his 11th goal of the Serie A campaign in Sunday's 3-0 win at Pisa.
