Liverpool's Jose Enrique suffering from knee injury; likely to undergo surgery
Liverpool defender Jose Enrique is facing a long spell on the sidelines after the club revealed that the Spaniard is suffering from a long-term knee injury that will likely require surgery.
The marauding left-back has only featured twice in Liverpool's last five matches -- playing just 29 minutes in that time -- after being one of the first names on the team sheet early in the season.
Here's what manager Brendan Rodgers had to say when speaking about the injury with talkSPORT:
“Jose Enrique has been struggling for a little while with an injury. He will probably need an operation. It’s a blow for us because he's a very talented player.”
With the 27-year-old out of action, summer signing Aly Cissokho will continue to occupy the starting role on the left side of the Liverpool defense.
