Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez jointly named Player of the Month for March
For the first time since April 2007, the Player of the Month award has been given to two individuals after Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez received an equal number of votes among the Barclays-assembled panel.
The honor means that Gerrard, who scored four goals in March, has now been named Player of the Month a record six times, surpassing Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
As for Suarez, who scored six and contributed two assists, it's the second time this season that he's been given the award.
Liverpool won all five of their Premier League matches in March, placing them atop the table on 74 points as the season approaches its conclusion.
Only once have the Reds had two players share the award. That was back in January 1996 when the vote was split between Stan Collymore and Robbie Fowler.
