Report: Ryan Giggs to be offered United assistant job under Louis van Gaal
Ryan Giggs may not be the manager at Old Trafford next season, but it seems the club legend will be retained once the new regime is in place.
Louis van Gaal is expected by many to be appointed as the permanent successor to David Moyes in the near future, and according to ESPN FC, Giggs has been asked to remain on the touchline alongside him as an assistant.
Giggs, who made his 963rd appearance for United in their final home match of the season against Hull just over two weeks ago, was reportedly spotted in Holland on Wednesday ahead of a meeting with the Dutchman.
Many expect the 40-year-old to land a permanent job as a manager at some point down the line, and working under the tutelage of Van Gaal can only help his prospects of achieving that goal.
