Report: Arsenal to sign Southampton defender Calum Chambers
Arsenal are reportedly still developing their back line ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
According to BBC Sport, the Gunners are close to completing the signing of Southampton right-back Calum Chambers for a fee of roughly £16 million.
Chambers, an England Under-19 international, made 18 appearances for Southampton last season, earning himself a reputation as one the brightest up-and-coming full-backs in England. In a BBC Sport feature that attempted to predict England's starting XI for the 2018 World Cup, three of the five national journalists who were questioned picked Chambers as the team's starting right-back.
He'll likely feature as Arsenal's backup right-back this season behind Mathieu Debuchy, who completed his move from Newcastle earlier this month.
