The fee for Forster, who has been at Celtic since 2010 and won three domestic titles and two Scottish Cups with the Bhoys, is reportedly in the region of £10 million.
He'll be reunited with Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama, who Southampton signed from Celtic last season.
