Report: Fiorentina to sign Micah Richards on loan from Manchester City
Seldom-used Manchester City defender Micah Richards is set for a move away from the Etihad in the hopes of obtaining more playing time.
According to Sky Sports, the physically imposing Englishman, still just 26 years old despite seemingly being on the Premier League scene forever, is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to Serie A side Fiorentina.
Richards, once thought to be an exciting young prospect that would be a mainstay in the club's defense for years to come, has struggled to assert himself in Manuel Pellegrini's squad, falling down the pecking order as new signings have continually been made.
While no specifics of the reported deal have emerged, the fact that it is Fiorentina should not come as much of a surprise. The two clubs enjoy a strong rapport following previous deals that have seen both Stefan Jovetic and Matija Nastasic make the switch to the Premier League from the Italian side.
