Sam Allardyce says Jose Mourinho sent text to thank West Ham for beating Manchester City
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho apparently couldn't contain his excitement following West Ham's huge win over Manchester City on Saturday.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce revealed in an interview that Mourinho sent him a text following the match to congratulate him and the Hammers on their victory over Chelsea's biggest challengers for the Premier League title.
"Jose has just texted me to say 'Well done big man,'" Allardyce told beIN Sport, according to the Daily Mail.
"This shows how important it was for him, never mind us."
The result, coupled with Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Manchester United, further separates the two as Manchester City sit six points back in third place.
Manchester City can't afford many more of these disappointing results in their quest to retain the Premier League title.
