Samir Nasri returns from groin injury; included in squad for Capital One Cup

Struggling in both the Premier League and Europe, Manchester City will receive a much needed boost this week.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed Tuesday that midfielder Samir Nasri, who has spent just over a month on the sidelines with a groin injury that ultimately required surgery, will return to the squad for Wednesday's Capital One Cup clash against Newcastle.
While it's unlikely that the Frenchman will see anywhere near 90 minutes of action tomorrow, the cup match gives Pellegrini a good opportunity to work Nasri back into the squad ahead of Sunday's Manchester derby and a critical Champions League contest next week.
