Mario Balotelli's struggles have been analyzed, over-analyzed and unfairly scrutinized during his time at Liverpool. That said, there is no debating that his second spell in England has not gone quite how he would have expected.

The same can be said of Liverpool's season thus far. The Reds' struggles continued on Saturday, as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of a resurgent Newcastle side.

Balotelli, despite attempting to get involved in attacking positions, was completely bereft of service. In every possible way, it was an awful day for Liverpool, summed up perfectly by this horrific tackle by Daryl Janmaat on Balotelli.
