Leicester City have officially beaten out Chelsea for the services of Croatian forward Andrej Kramaric.
Kramaric, who scored 28 goals for HNK Rijeka in all competitions this season, was tipped to join Chelsea, where he would subsequently be loaned out to Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem for the remainder of the season. However, the 23-year-old apparently preferred to play in the Premier League immediately, allowing Leicester to snap him up.
According to the BBC, Leicester have opened their wallet to the tune of £9 million for Kramaric, a fee that marks a club record if accurate.
At King Power Stadium, Kramaric will be tasked with helping Leicester emerge from the relegation zone, where they sit with only 14 points from 20 fixtures.
