Peter Crouch signs new deal with Stoke City
Peter Crouch was so encouraged after last season's top-10 finish with Stoke City that he's decided to extend his stay at the Britannia Stadium.
He's now got his sights set on capturing silverware after signing a two-year extension Thursday, the team announced
"We have achieved so much in the time I have been here - finishing the top-10 last year was huge for us and the squad we have right now is full of quality," Crouch said.
"I’m just so happy that we are doing well and now we want to keep moving forward and possibly lift a bit of silverware - which is achievable."
Stoke's only realistic shot at capturing a trophy is in the FA Cup where the team recently advanced to the fifth round after beating Rochdale 3-1. They've got a chance of advancing further after being paired with Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
Crouch has been a solid contributor thus far, starting 13 matches for Stoke and finding the back of the net on four occasions. He's currently in his fourth season since joining them in 2011 from Tottenham.
He spoke about the fondness and loyalty he has for Stoke:
"I’m really happy here and I think that is evident given the fact that I have spent more time here and played more games than at any other club I have been at in my career.
"I believe that we have so much more to achieve here and I am absolutely delighted that I am going to be a part of that. It’s really exciting."
