Chelsea, Everton fined £30,000 for player misconduct in February match

Reuters

Chelsea and Everton have each been handed a minuscule fine stemming from an incident in the Blues' 1-0 victory on Feb. 11.

The FA announced Monday that each side will be required to pay £30,000 after "failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour."

The incident took place in the 86th minute of the match at Stamford Bridge, and saw Branislav Ivanovic allegedly headbutt James McCarthy before a scrum ensued around referee Jon Moss.

Ivanovic was cleared of any wrongdoing, with the FA deeming that there was not sufficient video evidence to conclude that the defender did indeed headbutt the Everton midfielder.
