Liverpool's Martin Skrtel banned 3 matches for stamp on David De Gea
Martin Skrtel will serve a three-match suspension for stamping on the outstretched leg of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea on Sunday.
The FA announced Wednesday that the violent conduct charge leveled against the Liverpool defender, a charge he denied, had been proven following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing.
As a result, Skrtel will miss the Reds' upcoming Premier League matches against Arsenal (April 4) and Newcastle (April 13), while also being forced to watch the FA Cup quarterfinal replay against Blackburn (April 8) from the stands.
While likely a coincidence, the news came shortly after the Slovakian international outlined his displeasure with the FA by posting the following photo on his Instagram account:
In place of any written message, the photo was accompanied simply by an ellipses.
