Reports: Claims Manchester United have completed deal for Gundogan are 'incorrect'
Ah, the summer transfer window.
It's over a month away, and yet the outlandish rumors that accompany it are already well underway.
The latest eye-roll inducing example emanates from Germany, where reports Friday claimed Manchester United were on the verge of completing a £21.5-million deal for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.
It was practically a done deal. Until it wasn't.
The response to the initial rumors was swift, with multiple outlets refuting the reported deal. ESPN FC called it, simply, "incorrect." Others were not too far behind.
Am led to believe German reports Man Utd are about to sign Ilkay Gundogan are premature, if not incorrect.

Manchester United may very well sign the 24-year-old this summer. Certainly, they will once again invest heavily in the side.
That said, this particular deal seems to be one that is more a construct of the silliness of the season than anything else. As you were, then.
