Burnley's troubles aren't limited to the pitch.

On Tuesday, the club announced that 21 supporters will receive lifetime bans relating to an outbreak of violence that took place during a Championship match versus Sheffield Wednesday in January of 2014. The football orders were assigned by Preston Crown Court earlier this week.

The trouble, which took place at Burnley Miners Clubs following a 1-1 draw, resulted in 21 men and one 17-year-old being charged with violent disorder, 19 of which were given prison sentences ranging from five months to 22 months.

"It is our intention to give life-time bans to all of those involved in this mindless act of violence," chief executive Lee Hoos said. "Naturally, we will crosscheck our database and put these bans in place. These people are clearly not fans and there is no place for them at Burnley Football Club."

Through 34 fixtures, Burnley sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with only 26 points and face an uphill battle to avoid relegation.
