The English footballing community is mourning the death of Rio Ferdinand's wife, Rebecca Ellison, who passed away following a short battle with cancer.

In the wake of her death, Queens Park Rangers, who Ferdinand joined ahead of the season, announced that their players will take the pitch wearing black armbands for Saturday's fixture versus Liverpool at Anfield.
