Southampton's Dusan Tadic likely to miss remainder of season with groin injury
Dusan Tadic's first season in the Premier League appears to be over.
Southampton manager Ronald Koeman confirmed ahead of Saturday's contest against Leicester City that the Serbian midfielder, who leads the team with seven assists in his debut season, will miss the match with a groin problem and could sit out the final three games of the campaign.
"I spoke to Dusan and he was struggling a long time with a groin problem and we said, OK, we have to stop now. We can’t continue like this because maybe you have in preseason the same problem for next season.
"It’s going better but going slowly and maybe, yes, (he will be out for the season), but we will see," Koeman said.
The revelation that Tadic has long been dealing with the ailment helps to explain why he has spent much of the latter part of the season starting matches from the bench, despite clearly being the catalyst behind the team's attacking success early in the year.
