Manchester United confirm Radamel Falcao's return to Monaco
Radamel Falcao's time with Manchester United is officially over.
Following conclusion of their Premier League campaign, United confirmed that the Colombian striker has returned to AS Monaco following his season-long loan spell at Old Trafford.
"Falcao is a top professional and a good human being. On behalf of myself and everyone at the club I would like to wish him well for the future," manager Louis Van Gaal told the team's website.
The initial agreement between the two clubs allowed United the option to make the move permanent, but his poor performances throughout the season failed to live up to the club's expectations.
He only managed to score four goals during his nine months at United, and was even relegated to the youth squad for a period as Van Gaal attempted to boost his confidence with additional playing time.
It didn't work as Falcao continued to underwhelm with the first team.
Monaco have yet to comment on the Colombian's return.
