Jonas Gutierrez slams Newcastle owner after release
Jonas Gutierrez's animosity towards Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley goes beyond the team's decision to release the Argentine.
Following his dramatic goal to secure Newcastle's place in the Premier League, the cancer survivor was released from the club he's represented since 2008.
Gutierrez took to Twitter following his release Friday to thank the faithful supporters and to reveal the disrespect from Ashley during his fight with testicular cancer.
Two things I learn from my illness how you can support a player (newcastle fans) and how you leAve a player alone (newcastle owner)

His relationship with the fans, however, is likely a bond that won't be broken following his contribution during the season finale. Gutierrez set up one goal and secured safety from relegation when he doubled the team's lead with a goal of his own in the 85th minute.
It was a remarkable comeback considering his football career was in jeopardy earlier in the season when he was receiving medical treatment.
Gutierrez overcame the illness and made his season debut for Newcastle in March, just four months after being discharged from the hospital.
