Report: Petr Cech to discuss move to Arsenal during meeting with Chelsea officials

Petr Cech could be on the verge of a move to north London following his meeting at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

The Czech Republic international will meet with Chelsea officials Monday to express his eagerness to leave the team and persuade them into allowing him to transfer to Arsenal, their Premier League rivals, according to Sky Sports.

Cech has reportedly only been interested in a transfer to a club within London because of his family, despite Chelsea's reluctance to sell the 33-year-old to their neighbours to the north.

While some reports suggest Cech will cost teams £11 million, Jose Mourinho revealed his desire to acquire a player in return rather than settling for a transfer fee. Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been rumoured to be Mourinho's targets in a possible player swap.

Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, and Besiktas are also interested in obtaining him, and would likely be Chelsea's preferred choice over Arsenal or any team in England's top flight.

Cech, who is returning from international duty after the Czech Republic's 2-1 loss to Iceland, is keen on a move away from Stamford Bridge following a year in which he played a supporting role behind Thibaut Courtois.
