Southampton complete signing of former Malaga striker Juanmi
Southampton got their summer shopping off to a positive start with the signing of Juanmi from Malaga.
The Spanish forward has signed a four-year contract with the Premier League side and will join his new teammates during a pre-season training session June 29, the team announced.
Neither team released the transfer fee, but earlier reports indicate that Southampton will dish out £5.1 million for his services.
"Juanmi is a young, exciting and attacking player who fits into the club’s strategic plan perfectly," executive director of football Les Reed said.
"He has been tracked closely by our recruitment department for some time, and we were keen to act quickly when presented with the opportunity to bring this young player with international quality to Southampton.
Juanmi arrives at St. Mary's stadium after spending five seasons with Malaga. He collected eight goals during 34 La Liga appearances in his final season.
