Report: Manchester United favourites to land Schneiderlin
Morgan Schneiderlin's dreams of Champions League football could become reality as two of the Premier League's top four clubs compete for his signature.
While Arsenal have been linked with a move for the French international throughout the season, Manchester United appears to have overtaken their rivals as the front-runners in the Schneiderlin sweepstakes, according to Sky Sports.
United have apparently edged Arsenal out as the favourites, reportedly willing to offer Southampton £25 million to procure the 25-year-old's services, according to various British outlets.
Schneiderlin attempted to force a transfer last summer following a mass exodus at the club, but was denied by Southampton's representatives. Despite putting up a valiant effort to qualify for the Champions League, the midfielder looks set to leave after the team came up short in their quest to play in the illustrious tournament.
"The negotiations are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days, hopefully before the resumption of (Southampton's preseason) training next week," Schneiderlin told radio station France Bleu Alsace.
