Watford completes €2.5-million signing of Jose Holebas from Roma
Watford, in preparation for its return to the Premier League, is looking abroad for reinforcements. That search has taken them to the Italian capital.
AS Roma announced Thursday they've agreed to sell left-back Jose Holebas to the Hornets, brokering a €2.5-million deal for the Greek international.
The 31-year-old, who made 24 Serie A appearances last season, could also net the Italian club an additional half-million euros should he reach unspecified performance bonuses with the Premier League club.
The deal, which comes one day after the club announced the permanent signing of striker Matej Vydra from Udinese, gives manager Quique Flores an exciting attacking option on the left flank - though Holebas's defensive qualities may give the bench boss some heart palpitations.
