Report: Watford agrees to sign Etienne Capoue, Benjamin Stambouli from Tottenham
A pair of defensive midfielders are reportedly set to move from White Hart Lane to Vicarage Road.
Watford agreed to fees with Tottenham Hotspur for Etienne Capoue and Benjamin Stambouli on Saturday, according to Sky Sports, although an agreement with the latter is still "some way from being reached."
Capoue, who arrived at Tottenham from Toulouse ahead of the 2013-14 season, featured regularly under Andre Villas-Boas but saw his playing time reduced once Tim Sherwood took over. Last season, with Mauricio Pochettino at the helm, the 26-year-old made only 12 Premier League appearances.
Stambouli, meanwhile, joined Tottenham from Montpellier HSC last summer, but was limited to only four Premier League appearances in 2014-15.
Tottenham is in the midst of making drastic changes to its midfield, as Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande signed Paulinho on Monday, while Lewis Holtby joined Hamburger SV on a permanent deal on Wednesday.
