Fenerbahce's newest signing, Nani, is urging his former Manchester United teammate Robin van Persie to join him in Turkey.

Nani has no doubt the striker could make a smooth transition to the Super Lig outfit.

"I haven't had the chance to talk with Robin van Persie yet," Nani told reporters during his official unveiling at the club, according to ESPNFC. "But if he comes to Fenerbahce, I am sure that he will be very successful. I know Robin very well and it would be right decision if Fenerbahce sign him."

Nani joined the Turkish side on a three-year contract for a transfer fee believed to be worth €6 million, bringing an end to his career at Manchester United.

Days before Nani completed his transfer, Van Persie was reported to have agreed to terms with Fenerbahce following a frustrating season at Old Trafford, where he saw his playing time decrease as the season came to a close.

His agent, however, swiftly rejected the report and said Van Persie would be present at the beginning of United's training camp.
