Jordi Amat: (Foot) Doubtful for Newcastle

Amat (foot) is not expected to play in Saturday's match against Newcastle according to manager Garry Monk, Alex Bywater of the Western Mail reports.

Analysis:

Amat came into the season with an injury to his foot but Monk believes his defender just needs a little more training time to become ready for match-play. He only made seven starts last season, partly due to a knee injury, and will likely have a hard time convincing Monk that he deserves a spot in the starting XI this year.
