Alex Neil confirms interest in bringing Roma's Mattia Destro to Norwich City
Roma striker Mattia Destro has caught the attention of Norwich City manager Alex Neil.
The newly promoted side's manager confirmed reports linking Norwich with a move for the Italian striker and hinted that the team's transfer business could extend into the final days and even hours before the window closes.
"Yes, he is a player who has been discussed," Neil told reporters. "I have said before I won’t just go and sign players, I will wait to the end (of the transfer window) if I have to.
“I need to sign players I think are going to add to the group and make us stronger and better. That is probably why it is taking so long.”
Destro, who spent last season on loan at AC Milan, has scored 25 goals in 57 matches at Roma, including eight goals in 31 Serie A appearances last season.
