Report: Valencia accepts Manchester City's €45-million bid for Nicolas Otamendi
Nicolas Otamendi's move to Manchester City is edging closer to completion after Valencia reportedly accepted an improved offer for the Argentine defender.
The Spanish team has agreed to sell the central defender for €45 million (£31 million), with Otamendi expected to sign a five-year deal with Manchester City, according to Guillem Balague of Sky Sports.
The agreement does not include a loan deal for City defender Eliaquim Mangala, as originally reported last week.
Both teams had an arrangement last Friday that would have seen Mangala move to Spain on a season-long loan, but Balague reports the French defender, who arrived at City from FC Porto last summer, refused to be included in the deal.
The next step will see Otamendi undergo a medical before the transfer can be officially announced.
