Report: Real Madrid won't sell Gareth Bale for any price

Even if Manchester United tables a world-record bid for Gareth Bale this summer, he isn't going anywhere.

Real Madrid signed the Welshman from Tottenham for €91 million (£78 million) in 2013, according to the Spanish club, which fell just short of Cristiano Ronaldo's world-record fee of €94 million.

Even if United boss Louis van Gaal trumps Ronaldo's amount by as much as €36 million, Real Madrid will still say no, according to ESPNFC.

Bale has been on the United radar since the club missed out on his signature two years ago, when he opted instead for a move to Spain. After getting a rough reception from fans last season due to his inconsistent form, it was thought that Bale would be open to a return to Britain.

New Real boss Rafael Benitez has Bale as an integral part of his plans, though, with the 26-year-old appearing in a more central role in the first game of the season.

Los Blancos hope to improve on their disappointing 0-0 draw at Sporting Gijon to start 2015-16 when they face Real Betis next Saturday.
