Ola Toivonen joins Sunderland on loan from Rennes
Midfielder Ola Toivonen is on his way to the Stadium of Light after completing a loan move to Sunderland from Stade Rennes.
The Premier League club announced that it has agreed to a season-long loan for the Sweden international and that Toivonen has a chance to make his debut Saturday against Aston Villa.

The transfer will provide manager Dick Advocaat with an experienced option up the middle of the park, as the Dutch boss should be comfortable deploying Toivonen in the heart of the midfield after working with him in Holland.
"I worked with Ola at PSV so I know him well," said Advocaat. "He is a national team player with a lot of experience, an attacking midfielder who can score goals and is good in the air - he will bring something different to the team."
Toivonen, 29, managed to score 14 goals in 46 appearances with Rennes since joining them in 2014.
He's enjoyed a successful career at the international level as well, winning over 40 caps with Sweden.
